Filling The Void Dallas set a new high in 2016, serving a record-setting 3,811 meals that topped our previous high in Texas of 3,773 meals in 2015.
We do 3 outreaches a month in Dallas. One outreach takes place in Lewisville. Another takes place in downtown Dallas. The third is a dinner at a shelter in McKinney. All 3 outreaches allow us to work cooperatively with other agencies.
We’re grateful for those who stand with us in Dallas, including BridgeWay Church, Hope Fellowship, Dallas Life and Joyce Meyer’s Hand of Hope Ministry.
We began laying the groundwork for the Dallas ministry in summer 2011 and incorporated with the state of Texas on May 31, 2012.
The first outreach in the Lone Star state took place on Aug. 4, 2012, when we distributed 60 lunches downtown. Our first four sack lunches went to a young mom named Kendra and her three daughters.
Since our start in Dallas, we have served more than 10,000 meals in the Metroplex. We hit the milestone in June 2016.
HISTORICAL NOTE: The Dallas ministry was made possible when former Denver volunteer Gary Nilson relocated to Texas.
SEND SUPPORT: 100% of your gifts to Filling The Void Dallas helps the hungry and homeless in Texas. We do not deduct any portion for administrative expenses.
